Advantages and Disadvantages of Multi Disc Screw Press

Nowadays, multi disc screw press gets more and more widely used in wastewater treatment. Traditional sludge dewatering equipment includes plate-and-frame filter press, belt filter press, decanter centrifuge, etc. The reason why multi disc screw press is used to replace these devices is because it has the following advantages:

1. Compact structure. Electric control cabinet, metering box, flocculation mixing box and dewatering device are all integrated together, so as to reduce floor space.

2. Automatic and easy operation, low labor cost.

3. Self-cleaning, low consumption of washing water.

4. Low rotating speed and low energy consumption.

5. Low trouble, low noise, low vibration and safe operation.

6. Fast and simple maintenance.

7. Long service life: the equipment is almost entirely made of stainless steel.

However, multi disc screw press has these disadvantages:

1. Not good at treating inorganic sludge.

2. Not good at treating wastewater containing large particles (such as stones, sand particles and other substances).
