In the production process of lubricating oil additives, we often encounter such a key problem: how to remove mechanical impurities above 600A from semi-finished products with high viscosity. Many years ago, low-efficiency filtering equipment was used to filter repeatedly in order to obtain better products. However, this production method has the disadvantages of high production cost, low output efficiency, and extremely unstable product quality control, which hinders the development of lubricating oil additive production technology. High-speed disc separator has been widely used in the additive industry and has been highly recognized.
1. Working Principle
A mixture of light, heavy liquid phase and solid phase with different densities and immiscible with each other will slowly settle and be separated in a gravity field. However, when the centrifugal acceleration is several thousand times greater than the gravitational acceleration, the light and heavy liquid phase will be easily layer and the solid particles will be easily settled. This separation method is called centrifugal separation. In order to achieve a better separation effect in industrial production, a sufficiently large sedimentation separation area is essential.
2. Application of Lubricant Additive Production
In view of the diversity of lubricating oil additive products, such as magnesium naphthenate, calcium sulfide alkylphenol, high base calcium sulfonate, super high base calcium sulfate, 300 base calcium naphthenate, 400 base calcium naphthenate, etc., some additive manufacturers use high-speed disc separator for production. Centrifugal impurity removal treatment is carried out at different temperatures, and the results are all better than the national standards, obtaining a stable and ideal qualified clarified liquid, which fundamentally ensuring the production of high-quality lubricant additives.
3. Advantages
Compared with traditional filtering equipment in terms of impurity removal, high-speed disc separator has obvious advantages:
(1) The quality of the obtained lubricating oil additive product is stable and reliable, and the impurity content is lower than the national standard. Compared with traditional filtering equipment, there is no need for repeated filtering, and qualified product quality can be achieved after a single filtration.
(2) Save manpower and reduce pollution. The high-speed disc separator only requires one person to operate and monitor. It has the following advantages: good working environment, low labor intensity, continuous running and stable operation.
(3) Save filtration costs.Under normal solid content conditions, the yield of the high-speed disc separator can reach 85% to 92%, greatly saving costs.
(4) Reduce waste slag discharge. There is only water and slag in the emissions, no filter cake will be produced.
(5) Safe and reliable. Due to the fully enclosed system and the protection of inert gas, once a fault occurs, the separator will shut down automatically.
